Negotiating Your Salary

Say your about to interview with a company that is offering $37 to $47 a year. $37 with 0 years experience $47 for 9 years and up. You have 2 years exp. and are an MCSE:S. You want to try and get 42 but are not sure if they will swing it. You would take the job for 37 if they made you just for the chance to work at the place. Where do you start, will they make an offer first? If they offer 42 will you be able to get 45? Give me a few tips I have never had a chance to negotiate my salary this much.
Thanks

If you're at the point of salary negotiation, you're probably their primary pick, so don't feel like they're going to drop you just because you politely ask if they can go a little higher. However, if you say your number is firm or are a jerk about it, then they might go after #2. Just say something like, "I was expecting to get $XX for this position, is that something you can do?" Just be prepared to explain why you're worth more money.
