hi all, what would you guys do if the job title you guys interviewed for is stated differently on the offer letter. For example you guys interviewed for a job called "Tech Support Specialist 1" but the on the offer letter says "Tech Support Representative" .. . would you guys inform the employer about it or just ignore it and accept the job?

Those seem to say pretty much the same to me, but you can always call them to confirm that if it's making you nervous.

I wouldnt worry about it. HR people and tech people dont use the same wording.

My last job could have been called about 5 different things, depending on who was talking about it.

In almost every industry you will find that the job titles are off a bit, especially in the government contractor places. The job title will be basically made up, and include something like "all other duties as necessary" This is their way of keeping the Department of Labor off their back and making sure if they need you to they can make you clean the toilets. Awesome huh.

At my company an individual's job title may vary depending on which HR system a particular report is generated from. It's not that big of a deal, as someone else said, the two titles you posted mean the exact same thing.
