What's the "R2" designation in Server 2003

What are the feature and function changes with the R2 version? For what does R2 stand? I did a search for "R2" using the forum search feature, but I received no hits. Thanks in advance for your help.

Release 2 -
"Microsoft® Windows Server™ 2003 R2, a software update to the Windows Server 2003 operating system, makes it easier and more cost effective to extend connectivity and control to identities, locations, data, and applications throughout and beyond your organization."

At least as I remember there where problems with the original version of Winows2008 and they had to release a updated version which they called R2.

Thanks. I guess there is no need to adjust my studies too much, as I don't have access to the release 2 variaiton.

Not really ... its still the same technology ...
