Hi All,
I don't know if this is a proper forum for that topic, but I'll try
I need to upgrade network card (100Mbit) on domain controler running Windows 2003 Standard. I need install 1Gbit NIC. For now is working fine and I don't to broke it...
This DC keeps AD, DHCP, DNS and acts as a file server. What should I do, to do it properly?
This list is OK?
1. Disconnect DC from network.
2. Disable NIC (100M).
3. Shutdown DC.
4. Install 1Gbit NIC.
5. Start DC.
6. Install NIC drivers.
7. Assign IP from 100M card to 1G card.
8. Connect network to 1G card.
9. Leave 100M card disable as a emergency.
Should I restart services or server after assigning IP to new NIC?
Thx for any help

But it should be fine once you have an IP assigned.Jumping on the IT blogging band wagon -- http://www.jefferyland.com/
