Wake on Lan issue
Guys,
wondering if anyone can help me with this
i am tryin to setup a wake-on-lan setup on my network
and i am using the magic packet sender to wake the system up
its a dell system which is almost a new system and has a onboard nic which has a broadcom gigabit nic and it does
have the capablity of wake on lan. i have tried to wake the system up from standby, hibernate and a pwr off mode, it doesnt work
the bios settings are all right for the wake on lan to work, enabled wake on lan for the nic in bios and all the pwr options are set to enabled for wake on lan to work.. and also have the wake on lan for the nic drivers enabled
also switched off all firwalls, still doesnt work, thought could be the router not forwarding the packet, so tried it on a peer-to-peer network on 2 systems
and that still fails.
is there anyway or utility to check if the packets are reaching the network card? or any other work around to get this working
any further help appreciated.
cheers
