Silly question

Well I live in Canada at the border of the US. I am trying to find a job in the US as there is no jobs where I live and the pay is better. When searching for jobs how would somebody translate this "Must be eligible to work in the US". Does this mean that I should have a TN work visa or do I have the right credentials and everything to work in the states?

I do not have a visa and would need one of these companies to sponsor me.

Thanks for the help guys. Much appreciated!

From what I understand about the TN, you just get your passport stamped at the border and you're eligible to work in the U.S for a year with a given company. I believe it's much different from a H-1B and therefore many U.S companies opt for this approach. I'd take "must be eligible" to mean that you satisfy whatever requirements are in place for a visa or TN status.
