It seems like there was another study done recently about IT jobs. http://www.computerworld.com/action/article.do?command=viewArticleBasic&articleId=9110329&intsrc=hm_list
There seems like a lot of conflicting reports about IT jobs but this study seems more oriented toward our support role in IT rather then including programmers or other IT development areas. From what I can tell, if they included programming then there would surely be growth, I always see programmer openings in job listings.

but this is just purely speculation."It's Microsoft versus mankind with Microsoft having only a slight lead."
