IT jobs will drop in 09 - more IT job confusion?

It seems like there was another study done recently about IT jobs. http://www.computerworld.com/action/article.do?command=viewArticleBasic&articleId=9110329&intsrc=hm_list

There seems like a lot of conflicting reports about IT jobs but this study seems more oriented toward our support role in IT rather then including programmers or other IT development areas. From what I can tell, if they included programming then there would surely be growth, I always see programmer openings in job listings.

I'm actually planning on getting into programming because I feel most of the baby-boomers or current programmers are going to be retiring within 10 years so its all up to "generation y" to pick things up icon_lol.gif

but this is just purely speculation.
