Configuring Extension Mobility
With the extension mobility feature, a user can log in to a phone and
his profile will be applied to the phone. Therefore, a user can receive,
for example, his speed-dial and softkey settings on different phones
throughout an enterprise. Specifically, a user can press the Services
button on an IP phone to log in to the phone; this retrieves the user’s
profile.
The following six basic steps are required to configure extension
mobility:
1. Start the extension mobility service on the CCM server. Enter the
Cisco CallManager Serviceability application by selecting the
Application, Cisco CallManager Serviceability menu option.
From the Cisco CallManager Serviceability screen, select the
Tools, Service Activation menu option. Select the Cisco
Extended Functions and Cisco Extension Mobility Logout
check boxes, and click the Update button.
2. Create a new service to be used by extension mobility. Select the
Feature, Cisco IP Phone Services menu option, and click the
Add a New IP Phone Service link. Name the service, and enter
the following in the Service URL field:
http://CCM_IP_address/emapp/EMAppServlet?device=#DEVICENAME#
Later, you will assign this service to devices that require extension
mobility.
3. As a best practice, tweak the service parameters. Select the
Service, Service Parameters menu option. From the drop-down
menus, select the appropriate CCM server and the Cisco Extension
Mobility Logout service. Select True for the Enforce Maximum
Login Time service. Change the Maximum Login Time to 168:00.
In the Multiple Login Behavior field, select Auto Logout, which
allows a user to log in to a phone while automatically logging him
out of a phone that he had previously logged in to. Choose True
for the Alphanumeric Userid field. Select False for the Remember
last user logged in field. Then, click the Update button to apply
your changes.
4. Create a default device profile for each IP phone. Select the
Device, Device Settings, Device Profile Default menu option,
and click the Add a New Device Profile Default link. Select the
device type from the Device Type drop-down menu. Select the
settings (for example, music on hold, locale, and phone button
template) that you want to be applied to an IP phone when no one
is logged in to the phone. My daily blog about IT and tech stuff

jonmo2578 Member Posts: 14 ■□□□□□□□□□Ive not seen that particular error message...
however, when i set extension mobility up for my users is follow this process. ( CM 4.1 )
1/ Create a device profile with all the users extns etc..
2/ Create a User configuration in Users - Add new users.. Set up login pin etc..
3/ Click on Extn Mobility and associate the device profile to the user configuration....
4/ Go Device and check the phone configuration. Make sure it has Extn Mobility enabled on it..
Thats pretty much it..
