Need Visio Ideas.

Ok, so our company just obtained a big contract maintaining/migrating/supporting an enterprise environment.

I am one of the main points of contact and I am looking to create a visio of some sort that easily allows me to view servers/workstations/printers in a company. Basically what I have is one big .corp environment with 15 other small companies seperated in the .corp by OU's.

I have used google to no avail... Anyone here done the same thing in the past? Right now I have it all in excel and I am having to use the filter option, which works great... but its not very visual/fast for other users on my team.

Any suggestions?

Goal: Break down subsidiary companies into a Visio to show
servers, workstations, and printers used by that company.

Servers are about 20 per company, 200 workstations and 20 printers.

Do you want to automate the inventory and have it display in Visio? Is that what you're looking for?

Have you used that astorrs? Does it have to have snmp enabled on everything?

Well all those kinds of tools always do better with SNMP enabled, I can't remember if LAN Surveyor supports WMI for Windows machines or not - I'll have a look.

Never used before but looks great. There is still a free version available till july 31st. For Viso 2007 only though.

You can diagram their AD topology with the Active Directory Topology Diagrammer tool. It can do Exchange as well...

They've also got similar ones for SCCM, SCOM, Exchange 2007 specific, ISA (use IsaBPA to generate that Visio), and others, too.
