GPS Software Recommendations

So I was screwing around with Netstumbler, and I saw it supported GPS. I thought that was a good reason to pick up a GPS unit, and I went with Garmin 18.

I figured since I had that, I should look at some software as well. Does anyone have any recommendations? All the ones I've come across have gotten some pretty bad reviews:
Microsoft Streets and Trips
Garmin City Navigator
DeLorme Street Atlas Plus

The software versions typically don't compare with the actual hand-held units. I played around with Microsoft Streets and Trips but it quickly became a pain in the rear to have unpack the laptop, worry about whether or not I forgot the power converter, cables running all over the cabin of the car, etc. I have a Garmin Nuvi 660 (maybe 680?) and it is far easier to work with.
