How to run Server 2003 on a virtual machine?
RickQ
I am studying for my MCSA at the moment and am reading through a book on 70-290. There are several exercises in the book which I want to try out. I spoke to the sys admin here at work and he suggested I set up a virtual machine on my PC here and run Server 2003 on it so that I can try all the exercises without hosing anything important.
He said that he would see if he had a copy of virtual machine lying round, but I thought I would see if I could find anything online so that I can get started on the exercises ASAP.
Does anyone know where I can get a copy of virtual machine and Server 2003 for trial/practice purposes only?

With the later you would have to create a VM manually, most people use MS virtual PC/server or Vmware server (my preferred choice).

I couldn't get the VM Sessions to talk to each other until I installed a loopback adapter on my Vista machine.

You can get a free trial version of Vmware workstation, works for 30 days, easy to install and setup vm's.
