What's your opinion regarding exam objective lists?

I find that a lot of them are practically useless because they're so generic. To be honest, I haven't even bothered looking at them for my last few exams.
LPI has spoiled me. Check out their list for LPIC-1: http://www.lpi.org/eng/certification/the_lpic_program/lpic_1/exam_101_detailed_objectives
They even assign a "weight" to each objective, so you know how in-depth you're supposed to study the material.
Compare that to 70-236's: http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/exams/70-236.mspx#EDG
I'd like a better break-down of each objective, so I can get a better idea of what they actually expect of me.

undomiel Member Posts: 2,818Yep I definitely like the LPIC list better. I always found that I would glance over the Microsoft lists, go "that's nice" and then just start playing around with something or other. I don't think I ever completely read through a list for any of the exams. I always got a lot more info out of people's posts here in the forums.Jumping on the IT blogging band wagon -- http://www.jefferyland.com/

unclejohnny Member Posts: 82 ■■□□□□□□□□i've never seen that LPI stuff before, but I definetely will from now on. I agree that the Microsoft list of objectives is vague and of little use."We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of the dreams." Willy Wonka
