Whoops. I thought I scheduled my ICND1 further in advance than I did. I wish I would have checked my schedule on Tuesday. At least I could have got a little preview of the exam and the opportunity to use the free retake offer. That was a nice chunk of cash down the drain

Unlucky dynamik. Then again, if you'd knock that heineken habit on the head I'm sure you'll remember what days you have exams scheduledThe trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never tell if they are genuine - Abraham Lincoln -
dynamik Banned Posts: 12,312 ■■■■■■■■■□Well I finally buckled down and knocked this one out today. I'm always anxious when taking a new vendor's exam (I have another one with the VCP in a week or two. Yay ). Cisco seems to be a bit touchy about posting scores, but suffice to say, I only missed a perfect score by a few. I also finished with a half hour left, which doesn't seem to be the norm. I guess I erred (Wow, I feel dumb. I always thought that was "errored". Thanks spell check; I learned something today!) on the side of caution with this one.
Resources used:
Train Signal CCENT CBT
Transcender (helped, but kind of flawed)
Cisco Press ICND 1
CCNA Command Reference (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - it's easy to separate the CCENT topics)
Constantly reading words of wisdom from all the Cisco gurus here
Interesting notes:
Some questions are 5-in-1, so budget your time with those in mind. You'll have to evaluate a diagram or other information and answer various questions about it. Those seemed to take as much time as five regular questions.
Your score is based on a scale of 300-1000. What the hell is that? If I ever make an exam, I'm going to grade it on a scale of 236-1274. Good luck interpreting that.
There were a few questions that seemed beyond the scope of ICND 1. I'm not sure if those were ungraded questions or what. My optimism started to wane after the first question left me absolutely dumbfounded. There were only a few like that though, and I felt pretty good while waiting for my score to pop up.
I'm going to wrap up that VCP and then move on to ICND 2 shortly. -

Igloodude Member Posts: 19 ■□□□□□□□□□Doesn't the SAT do that as well? Perfect score is (was) 1600, and you can't score less than 400 or something? Maybe the initial few hundred points are for scheduling the test properly or something.
And I had the same sense when I took the exam - the first few questions left me wondering if I'd scheduled the correct exam, but things settled down well enough.
Anyway, congrats!Next up: MS Server 2008 Network Infrastructure (70-642), CCNA (640-816) -

You get 300 points just for showing up and taking the exam.... but since everyone gets those points it's kind of a wash. But if you don't show up, you don't get the 300 points -- or any other points.:mike: Cisco Certifications -- Collect the Entire Set! -

So while I was waiting to sign in, I was standing right behind the lady that's helping me. She was at her computer, and she moves notepad (or something similar) out of the way to reveal second life running in a window. There's two people in bed, and I think it's safe to say they're about as naked as the game will let you get. She just glanced at it for a second, then dragged notepad back over it and then took me to my test station like it was nothing. As she's leaving, she's like, "Oh yea, and you're on candid camera," and pointed to the camera. I almost said, "Sounds good. If I finish early, I'll put on a show for you, seeing as how you're into that!" -

Congrats on the pass, I was wondering when you'd knock this one out.

Congratz Dynamik!!! THank you for the information as well... I believe I am using most of those and actually, you pointed out the command reference book. I've had that on the shelf but never really used it as a study tool. Last night after reading your post, I read through it for an hour or so and it really is much more handy than I originally thought for being used as a study tool! I guess I never really looked at it too close. Thanks for the suggestion
Congrats again, I hope to be posting a Pass in 13 days -

Good job. I'm glad to here that you can kill Cisco exams too. They aren't a walk in the park.
I might have done my 294 by now if I haven't had power for 4 days.
