My study materials
Here is a list of what I have.
Sybex Security+ 2nd Ed.
Preplogic practice exam
Testout Security+
CBT Nuggets Security+
Transcender CISSP
Links to many online-tests
Is this going to be enough? I used simular references for the A+.
I know that the more resources, the better the knowledge base.
However, I'd like to keep the list as short as possible.
Does anyone have any "must have" materials?
Thx in advance.

I'd encourage you to pick up the Syngress book as well. -

A lot of people seem to have problems with the Sybex book, I would trade it out for the Syngress book if you can. Check some of the posts in this forum, a lot of mixed and poor reviews on that Sybex book.
I liked the Syngress book. Test Out was okay, but the dude had the vibe and personality of a serial killer.
Read the TechNotes here, be sure to print out the objectives from CompTIA and understand each one.
I am sure you will do fine! -

CISSP is the only Transcender exam I have on hand. I figured it would be OK to use it. But I'm not putting alot of time into that one. I'm going to get the Syngress book, due to all the posts here that ref to it. Thx, again. -

Now I can add the Syngress book to my study materials. I got a PDF copy of it. I've taken a quick look and I like what I see so far.
BTW: I bought my voucher yesterday & I plan to sit the test sometime next month. I hope I can knock this out........."one shot, one kill". -

I passed the Security+ exam using Mike Myers Security+ Certification Passport and a lot of online resources (tests and exam materials). -
jdocchio67 Member Posts: 18 ■□□□□□□□□□I agree with LarryDaMan where other folks have issues with the Sybex book, as I did.
I missed my exam by 20 points when I took it a couple of months ago
I used the Sybex and Exam Cram books and the questions I had on the exam, these books did not cover some of the material nor did they cover the material in depth
The Syngress book did for example the types of cookies Tracking, Session etc.
Sybex only had a little paragraph on them.
Also the difference between Centralized and Decentralized servers.
I definitely feel Syngress described them much more in detail, and much more understandable. -
jdocchio67 Member Posts: 18 ■□□□□□□□□□I found another item the Sybex and Exam Cram do not cover
the item is called - One-time pad Syngress does a very good job in describing it.
I also found Syngress has a very good description of VLAN's and goes through the process of how it has to be connected to a Switch, and setting up network segments between departments, and if you wish to share the folders on those other segments from each department you have to connect a Router. -
