Dead Switch?

I just got a 3548XL switch but it fails POST and I don't know if it can be fixed. The bold lines are the errors:

Also the 2x light flashes green and amber (green, amber, green, amber...). Is it a hardware problem or a software one? If it's a software problem, how do I get a fresh IOS on it? (Couldn't get connectivity on the switch ports so tftp didn't work.)

Looks like it dead to be honest. You can use TFTP or xmodem via the console port. It'll be slow though doing xmodem...

Try updating the image on this switch to WC17 first, see if the problem continues.

I had a 2950 that was getting all kinds of post errors. I cleared flash and NVRAM, then reloaded. Problem solved. Just make sure you have a copy of the IOS image. I think I had to use xmodem to restore things, but it was worth the effort.

Hey, i work on a switching team actually, 99% of the times this means you need to RMA your switch using the serial number, you could of course reboot and try to use a different software but if the Nvram is currupted i dont believe formating it could fix that.

either way that switch is EOS by now but i think you could RMA your switch 10 business day
