in CCNP
like the confusion I had with multiple Cisco sources saying different things about multicast querier elections I'm finding different opinions on ISIS DIS election with one saying highest priority then highest mac address and another saying lowest priority then lowest mac address wins
can anyone shed some light here?

Its the highest priority and then the highest SNPA. On ethernet the SNPA is the MAC and on frame-relay its the DLCI. If the DLCI is the same the highest system ID is used.An expert is a man who has made all the mistakes which can be made. -

I'm pretty sure it's higher in this case. It seems like in most cases higher priorities win elections for most protocols. The lower priority winning the election appears to be the exception to the rule.
