Power consumption

Hello everybody,

I was assigned to find out the power consumption of all racked devices? Any tips or advice on how to do a great job?

The devices are mostly hardcover router like 6509 and layer 3 switches

Remember that volts*amps=watts
and then remember that 1000watts = 1 KWh

you might want to check on user manuals, or website to get the specs, which should help.

The APC UPS selector can help as they have power consumption for zillions of devices:

Edit: Look under "Servers, Telecom., Storage Arrays" then "Configure by Devices"
