Pictures from a photo camera

Hi guys!
I took some pictures and recorded some short movies using my photo camera. Back home I transfered all of them to my hard drive and deleted that stuff from my photo camera. To my surprise I was able only to transfer the pictures but not any movies.
I wonder if there is any way of recovering these short movies from my photo camera? Or once it's gone, it's gone?

What type of storage does you phone use? If it's just a CF, SD, etc., you could probably just put it in a card reader and use standard file recovery software to try to recovery the data. -

It is a SD. So what file recovery software would you suggest that I use?
