2nd shot is Microsoft's way of giving you an extra chance to take an exam if you fail the first time. You must purchase a 2nd-shot voucher- I like Supervoucher. You register for the exam with the voucher number and if you fail, you can take the test again for free.
As far as the easiest...It depends on your strengths. I scored higher on the 271, because I do a lot of installs, troubleshooting drivers and apps. 271 is more similar to 270, so if you have taken 270, then 271 is much easier..in my opinion.
