Hey guys help me out!
I got offered a job and I go in Tuesday to work out the salary details and all that. Here is the situation. I have been AD Air Force for 12 years doing everything from help desk stuff in the beginning to server, san, exchange, and backup/restore admin duties now. I have designed and built tons of networks from the ground up (on resume and discussed in previous interview) and administered. The job is for a system administrator and supervising 4 technicians.
The town is in eastern NC that is not that big (around 25,000), so trying to figure out what to ask salary wise.
I will be running 13 servers, mail, file, backups, AD, 2 remote sites, and trying to get another site integrated into our network.
Please shoot me your thoughts......
thanks in advance

Salaries are usually based on experience (which you seem to have plenty of) and cost of living (like COLA in the military).
If you were in one of the more expensive areas such as the Triangle or Charlotte you could probably make quite a bit more than that.
Your best bet would be to let them make the first offer if you are unsure of what you would expect. I usually tell the employer what I want to make but I have a good idea of what someone with my skills in this area is worth. An expert is a man who has made all the mistakes which can be made.
