If I were president, I would never mow another lawn.

If I were president, I would make it a federal crime to travel slow in the left lane.

If I were president, I would make every Friday "pizza day" at all work places throughout the US.

If I were president, I would have them remove the braille from drive-up ATM machines.
hey now, its not walmart's fault that the people the work there suck.

maybe SC is defferent, but you can take an AS (associates in science) degree at a 2 year college here and as long as you meet the entrance requirements you can get in to pretty much any school.

The AA/AS is 100% gen-ed and you take the technical courses at the university you transfer to.

    In FL our A.A. is 95% gen-ed and A.S. is about 30% gen-ed

That's why the A.S. does not transfer as good.

I got a job at Wal-mart so on top of the good prices I get an extra 10% off! (South Park Reference)

I use to think the same thing, and didnt understand why we have so many generals courses.
I feel there is a lot to be said about a well rounded person that has a view of the big picture.
Please don't take any offense, but what ive come to see -- the people I work with a 4 year
degree have a very different mentality then the people with just years of experience.

I feel the education system still needs an overhaul, but i do appreciate what a degree gives.
I think there should be more focus put building a career path before one is finished with high
school. I dont care if that means 1-2 more years tacked on. I knew I wanted to work with
computers from even middle school, but yet nothing was offered to me as far hands on
experience or technical training until my senior year. Better then nothing, but to little
    to late.

The Computer Science Degree I was enrolled in at NMU sucked, it was all programming
when I really wanted to be an MCSE. No classes were available for that kind of work back then,
at least at a university level.

Excellent point, and I'm embarrassed to admit that I've never really thought about it before.

Hey now, my wife works at walmart, granted the people who figure who mans the registers can be complete idiots, but not everybody who works there.

i work for walmart myself. I wasn't trying to say that all walmart associates suck, but a lot of the cashiers (at least in my store) tend to. But what can you expect, its not a great job, and it doesn't pay very well. I wouldn't show up for work either.

I'm sorry to hear that, since my wife works there I know how crappy of a place it is. My wife has worked there for 4 years and is up to 10.50$... Yet another blood sucking corp who doesn't care about their employees.

And I agree, most cashiers are very spacey, not all, but most.

My ex-girlfriends mother has been working for wal-mart since 1999 so about 9 years. She is making $11.20/hour as a department manager...

Wow, 3 votes for me! :D
Let's see, I can vote for myself, and I might be able to get my wife's vote...

That's 5 already! Sorry to hijack this thread, but can I get a volunteer for my campaign manager? :P
All things are possible, only believe.

Its amazing isn't it. If you worked in IT for 9 or 10 years you would be making bank, not the crap wages walmart workers make. If my wife is lucky she can get a 60 cent annual raise!! But most works get 40 cents or less a year for a raise.

Isn't cost of living more then that??

I think COL is typically estimated to be around 5%, but it varies.

I'd offer to manage your campaign Mark, but I think that would just make you look bad in the end...
