I know some of you may have photographic-like memories, but for the rest of us mere mortals what are some tools, foods, methods, or advice that has worked for you?
I've heard that mind mapping can be helpful

Anyone tried supermemo?

Does ginkgo biloba work?

I personally like flashcards and I have been known to use pneumonic phrases from time to time.
I can't remember anything else...
Have you used anything for memory enhancement?

Super Memo (well, you posted in this one, so I guess you've seen it )
Best ways to retain knowledge
It'd be interesting to see if anyone has anything to add. -

Yep. I was tempted to get Supermemo, but I couldn't find many people who could vouch for it... except on the Supermemo website of course...
Sounds silly, but has anyone ever slept with audio training on all night? Could anything be gained from that?
I am just trying to get any edge... I would try steroids, but I am already strong enough to bubble in the answers on the scantron sheet. -

My system is to read through it twice. First time you won't have much clue of whats going on and is just to build up a general picture. Sleep on it over night. Read it again and it should hopefully make a lot more sense now. Also, you can't beat actually doing something in practise. -

scheistermeister Member Posts: 748 ■□□□□□□□□□If I am to remember something without doing it physically I have to read it or hear it over and over again. My short term memory blows, but my long term rocks.
One funny thing is that I started talking to a chick I dated four years ago and remembered tons of stuff that she didn't remember easily. After talking to her for a while she asked, "How do you remember all this stuff? When I dated you you didn't remember what I said 5 minutes ago, but now you remember things from over four years ago."
Honestly don't know why my short term memory sucks so bad, probably from me killing all those brain cells in my younger years... I always said I was killing the weaker ones off so only the strong survived.Give a man fire and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life. -

Doh!
I do know the difference, thanks for the correction...
Maybe I'll snort a line of ginkgo biloba to help me out with the confusion. -

They are useless "to me at least", did not change a thing.
