Is there a difference? Is one more recommended than the other?

People seem to have more bad experiences with prometric than vue so I would recommend going with vue as well. Never had a problem with them. Of course I never personally experienced a problem with prometric either. But I've liked the vue testing center the best.

I have used Vue for Network+ and Prometric for Security+. I have had no problems with either test. I personally prefer the Prometric testing center here because it was setup in a more comfortable testing environment and it's proximity is a few miles closer to me. I have read on here that others have had issues with their computers kicking them out of the test and it having to be restarted (don't remember which testing cetner it was) so I can see where that would be a major issue.
Best of luck with whichever you decide.

years ago, I took 8 exams out at the local Prometric. Never had a problem. I'll be taking Network+, soon at Prometric.
