Routing question?

Is it possible to route traffic to a router that is on the same subnet as the router that the traffic is coming from?
Serial Ethernet
Example: Router1 <
>Router2 <
>Router3
172.16.0.1|10.10.10.1 10.10.10.2|192.168.0.1 192.168.0.2|Internet

I want to pass traffic from 172.16.0.1 out to the Internet and also be able to access the 192.168.0.0/24 network.

I keep reading what seems like conflicting information about this. Could someone please explain why or why not this is possible. And if it doesn't work what would be the correct way to make it work.

Thanks.

    Lab it up! ;)

That seems like a pretty basic setup. Why do you think it might not work? You'll also need to configure NAT on Router 3, but I assume you already know that.

Not sure what you mean by "Is it possible to route traffic to a router that is on the same subnet as the router that the traffic is coming from?"

You do know that routers will be on the same subnet when they have a link right?
