I have no experience in Oracle 8i. It's old, outdated and hard to support...
So I am trying to do a database recovery but I am unable to find RMAN anywhere installed. Is there another application that I can use to restore a database file that I have?

There is a free version of toad, but differences don't warrant that you couldn't use it.
If this doesn't help, I will ask are oracle admin and see what else he's using..."You have to hate to lose more than you love to win" -

I am working with Finance on trying to get a commercial license. I was just seeing if there was any free tools out there in the mean time.
