10baseT & 100baseTX
Is this true?
100 baseTx uses 2 pair of twisted wires, but actually has 8 single wires total?
How many wires does 10baseT use?
Thanks ums!

Is similar to 10BaseT, except it requires Category 5 UTP or Category 1 STP (Shielded Twisted Pair) cabling. Only uses 4 of the 8 wires like just like 10BaseT. The maximum data transfer rate is 100 Mb/s and the encoding type is 4B/5B coding. -
bighusker Member Posts: 147Pretty much all of the 10/100 mbps ethernet standards use 2 pairs of wires. The only exception I can think of is 10Base4, which uses 4 pairs (8 wires total). I don't think 10Base4 is used much, if at all.
