    Standard parallel printer port is a DB-25 female connector. A standard serial COM port is a DB-9 male connector, you used to have a serial port that was DB-25 male connector on the back of a PC. So, yes, is the answer to your question.

    However, Ethernet is a type of serial communication carried out through RJ-45 connectors. Your Ethernet connectors on the back of a PC are female RJ 45 jacks. And, it's the same with the RJ-11 jack for your dialup modem.

    But I don't think A+ core is going to get that technical, but it is something you should be aware of.

    thanks i see, what about the IEEE 1394(Firewire) Is that serial as well?

    cause Im confused because I thought that when you see "IEEE", it always talked about Parallel Ports

    IEEE 1284 is a standard for parallel ports.

    IEEE 1394 is a standard for high-speed serial communication.
