syngress book

i am looking to buy the syngress book. For those who have it with the dvd, can you copy and paste from the ebook? I'm too lazy to type up my notes and prefer to copy them, less mistakes that way.

I have the ebook for the 298 and copy & paste works just fine for me.

Yea, the Security+ and 293 ebooks allow that as well. I think I've had a few quirks with the formatting when I paste into Word, but if you're just using it for notes, it shouldn't be a problem.

Where's the ebook at? My dvd is just a regular dvd. I went to www.syngress.com/certification but it looks wrong.

From the way the first post was worded, I assumed it was on the DVD. I've actually bought the ebooks directly and never had the physical book or DVD. That link you have is correct. Syngress recently switched over to that company to handle their sales and ebooks.

Yeah,
well this dvd is purely a movie dvd. It says it comes with a free ebook and online exams. However it tells you to go to www.syngress.com/certification to retrieve them. The book contains no license/key and the only options on the website are purchase options.

So, if you want an ebook make sure you buy the actual ebook. If you buy the paper book you will not get an ebook.

If it said it should come with one, I'd email/call Syngress and talk to them about it. Hopefully, they'll just give you a code to access the ebook on that new system.

Good luck with that. Syngress never responds to customer support e-mails. They even deleted my account because I kept asking for my ebook the book said is downloadable but was not offered through their website. I e-mailed them 4 times across a month period and my account was deleted. Talk about horrible service. I know several others who get never get a hold of their support as well.

I've never received a response from my emails asking about the ebook that is supposed to be included either.

bugger. I cant find a link on the new website for the ebook. I just put an order in for the book last night. I don't live in the USA so copyright laws prevent me from buying digital media from the USA or anywhere (I live in Australia) and in any case those only let you copy like 10 words a day. Strangely enough they have a facebook page...
