Implementing hard drive help!

Hello ive been reading the A+ by Mike Meyers and have stumbled on the implementing hard drives section which talks about Primary, active partitions and logical drives and all types of partitioning and formatting. Basically Im confused by most of them and was wondering if anyone could give me a break down of the partitions and formattings. Like it says you can create a dynamic disk and get an unallocated section and convert it to striping... blah all that stuff is confusing me and im worried if thats an important part in the exams and I would greatly appreciate it if someone would simplify things. Thanks.

will give you the basics. Basically, you can have four partitions on a drive. You can substitute an extended partition for a primary partition, which acts as a container for logical partitions. This was designed to get around the four-partition limit.
I'm not sure how much you're going to get into dynamic disks, but this is a good reference for that:
