BCMSN, does it cover multicast?
Hey all. I've got the BCMSN Self-study guide (4th edition), which is made for the current 642-812 exam, however one thing has me kind of thrown off. I know the older exam, the 642-811, had multicast on it, but the new blueprint does not. My question is then, why did cisco print this book (feb 08') with multicast still in it? Kind of leaves me wondering if I should hit it, or not. It's still relatively fresh from the BSCI, but I just want to make sure.

its been almost a year for me, but I think multicast was only on the BSCI. Does the blueprint for the exam mention multicast anywhere? If not, I wouldn't worry about it. -

It doesn't. I figure it's not, but I want to verify, since this book is relatively new, and still covered in it. Kind of strange. For whatever reason the BCMSN book seems much larger than the BSCI
..I guess it's because I much rather be routing... -

No it's not covered, you can skip this section for the BCMSN exam.
Focus more on Wireless and QoS.
