Shadow Copies - moving storage location!!!

Hi Guys,
Just a quick one on Shadow copies.
It is my understanding that once you have enabled shadow copies on a volume, there is no way of moving the storage location without deleting all the stored shadow copies first (i.e. the shadow copy files in the "System Volume Information" folder).
However, as part of my readings, it has been suggested that it may be possible to backup these shadow copies before they are deleted. Having said this, I have not found a way to do this.
So, in short is it possible to do the following:
1. Backup the shadow copy files.
2. Delete the shadow copy files (residing in the System Volume Information folder).
3. Change the storage location to another drive/volume.
4. Restore the backups to the new drive/volume (i.e. to the System Volume Information folder)
As part of my testing, I have not been able to backup the files using NTBackup. NTBackup seems to only backup the System Volume Information folder but not its contents. I gave full NTFS permissions on the folder and files to the administrator account and logged in as the administrator.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
