DNS in RHEL 5...........guts to help me?

hi alll.............straight to my qns.........
1)caching-nameserver package is installed there shud b a file /etc/named.caching-nameserver.conf instead of named.conf..so if i created a named.conf and copied both named.cach..... and named.rfc1912.zones to it...........will it b a problem deleting the named.caching nameserver??

No, that won't be a problem.
"/etc/named.caching-nameserver.conf" is only a template file and is not used by any application. It's there just to help you so that you can see how you would normally set up the named.conf for a caching nameserver. It's intended for you to set it up the way you want it, then copy it to named.conf.
