Hi, I have two PC with Server 2003. I have The following settings connecting wireless: IP:
Server01 Conecting Wireless IP:192.168.69.134 Subnet Maks: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.69.1
Active Directory Domain Name: AP.com
Netbios Domain: AP
Server02 Phisically Connected to the router IP:192.168.69.133 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.69.1
- I will like to add Server02 to AP.com domain, but I can't because I can't communicate with server01
I tried to ping from both server, but I'm getting no reply. I can ping the router on both server (Router IP Address is 192.168.69.1). Can anybody help me with this issue. Thanks

On the system you want to join to the domain, make sure the primary DNS is set to the DC.“For success, attitude is equally as important as ability.” - Harry F. Banks -
amb1s1 Member Posts: 408There is no firewall on the router. If you talk about the server, where can I ook for that?

Then that's why you can't ping each other. Just do what I set with the DNS and you should be able to join the domain.
And yes, when I was talking about the firewall, I was talking about the PC. Your systems are on the same physical and logical segment. They don't even go through the router to talk to each other.“For success, attitude is equally as important as ability.” - Harry F. Banks -
amb1s1 Member Posts: 408I was able to ping after I turned firewall off, thanks Royal, where can I set DNS to DC. I went into Manage server and then I hit Manage DNS Server, but I don't know where to go after that. Now I can't remote in.

amb1s1 Member Posts: 408I already did that. I type in the 192.168.69.134. I was abe to add server02 to the server01 domain, but now I can't remote into the PC.

royal Member Posts: 3,352 ■■■■□□□□□□RDP is off by default. You need to turn that on for it to work. You will then "automatically" be granted permissions to RDP in using either the Administrator account or anybody from the Remote Desktop Users group account.
And just an FYI, when RDP'ing into a Domain Controller, only Administrators are allowed by default.
To turn on Remote Desktop, Right-click My Computer, click Properties, and then click the Remote tab. Turn on Remote Desktop by selecting the check box Allow users to remotely connect to this computer.“For success, attitude is equally as important as ability.” - Harry F. Banks
