I've been tasked with finding a backup system for a small business who have a fedora file server.
I've been looking at the dell entry level tape and hard drive solutions but i'm a bit nervous about compatibility. Dell support Red Hat Enterprise and SUSE Enterprise but can't find anything that will set my mind at rest for fedora.
I'm not really bothered about software that comes with the device as i'll probably use TAR to compress a backup.
Any thoughts?

What kind of backup sizes are you looking at?
Edit to add: if you want to go with Dell, you can call to see if they'll support the device on Fedora. It may be that they're just suggesting OS's they'll support and that they'll really support it on any major linux distro, even experimental ones like Fedora.
