    Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor. It monitors to ensure your car is running at optimum temperatures to burn gas efficiently.

    It will cause a reduction in MPG and can cause things like your catalytic converter to burn out if gas is burning too richly.

    no Toyota Curren lol , recently I had to get the car for some mechanical fixing someone has hit my car you see , when I was driving the car from panelbeater I noticed this sign ECTS and was worried so nothing to be anxious about ?

    It is possible that the repair shop did not reconnect the O2 sensor correctly, which will give that warning light.
