If anyone is up for it, i would like someone to paint me a picture.
If you have 30 PCs and the first floor of a 2 story building and 20 PCs on the second floor in an office..How would you implement this network and what equipment would you use?
Please be thorough in your answer as i would like to get an idea of how this type of installation of a network would work/be created from start to finish.
Thanks!

2 switches will get you connected, per bashtie.
You will want to provide for DHCP so you don't have to configure each device--either by router or a separate server. Also, consider an Internet connection. With that many users, some will need Internet access--again a router.

I would connect all the computers upstairs by a switch and all the computers down stairs by a switch, then if your on the same ring power cucuit you could use home plugs.. Ive done it for a listed building and it works..Microsoft Certified Professional
