TCP/IP V4 disappeared from XP

My friend called me saying his ISP tech support uninstalled TCP/IP and instead installed IPV6!
I checked and IPV4 is not there as a protocol to be installed. I uninstalled IPV6 and rebooted, V4 is no where to be found...
Has anyone seen this problem?

Nope, haven't seen that before - not once, not ever
Actually, I haven't seen it in a while but from memory a reset of the TCP/IP stack will resolve.www.supercross.com

Try the command:
netsh int ip reset debug.txtMCSE 2003, MCSA 2003, LPIC-1, MCP, MCTS: Vista Config, MCTS: SQL Server 2005, CCNA, A+, Network+, Server+, Security+, Linux+, BSCS (Information Systems) -

Sorry I forgot I did try the netsh reset command and that didnt' help....

Yikes! Post back the solution for that then. That reset command was just what I was about to post until I saw beaver already put it up.Good luck to all! -

you should be able to re-install TCP/IP from OS disk, or other methods depending on your situation. check out this MS support page
