PPTP, L2TP, IPSec

Hi guys,
I read the Technotes about RAS and security protocols but am a little confused.
What I understood is that PPTP can allow tunneling of IP, IPX, AppleTalk.. through IP only. That is the tunnel (The thing that protects data) can be IP only, but the "cars" (data) can be IP, IPX, AppleTalk...is that right?
For L2TP, the tunnel can be IP, Frame Relay, X25, ATM... but the car can only be IP..?
As for IPSec, it only uses IP and it can be used with PPTP and L2TP ?
thanks a lot !

What are you confused about? You seems to understand it quite well.
You answered your own questions, and it corresponds with the info from my TechNotes.
In addition to the last question:
IPsec is mostly used with L2TP.
