Which exam after 70-536

Hi,
I recently cleared 70-536 exam.
Now I do now know for which exam to go. Please suggest.
I am basically an ASP.NET developer.
Should I go for
70-562 - TS: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5, ASP.NET Application Development
OR
70-503 - TS: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 – WCF Application Development

or there are some more new exams or some hot trends in market.

Please guide me.

As an ASP.NET developer, the next exam to take can be 70-528 (web applications .NET 2.0). Congrats on passing 536

70-528 is dotnet 2.0 based exam.
I think its better to go for 3.5 based exams like 70-503 or 70-562

Now the confusion is which one 70-503 or 70-562?

Without a doubt, the 70-562.. However, it would be wise to use the Microsoft Press Book for the 70-528 to prepare for it first. I've been studying the 70-562 material, and I think that there is a lot left out. I've read most of the press book for it but it's not a resource kit and the lab content is insufficient. Give yourself the experience that you need with a good resource kit. Then, do something like free e-learning to catch the new stuff or read Dino Esposito.

Hell, Gerry O'Brian (head of Microsoft learning) even recommended that one use the 2.0 materials to get ready for the 3.5 exams.

Microsoft Certifications : Microsoft Certifications: I'm Already Certified as an MCPD and I Want to Upgrade. Where do I start?
I've escaped call centers and so can you! Certification Trail and mean pay job offers for me: A+ == $14, Net+==$16, MCSA==$20-$22, MCAD==$25-$30, MCSD -- $40, MCT(Development), MCITP Business Intelligence, MCPD Enterprise Applications Developer -- $700 a Day

If you are going for the MCTS or MCPD in ASP.NET 3.5, it looks like 70-562 is next on your plate.

    Thx Murray

I've already started collecting materials for this 562

BTW how much time do you usually take for MS or some other exam ?
I need usually 1-2 months to prepeare good.

I'm personally all about learning the material as well as I can, so I probably take longer than most people to study for any certification. If I already have a deep background in the certification materials, then maybe it'll take me 1-2 months of continual study with no work or family interruptions. But if it's a new area of learning for me, such as a cert for a vendor's product, I might take six month or more. This is especially true if there's a hands-on learning skill set, such as you find with software development and network engineering. In those cases, I'll look to see if there are classes at my local community colleges that I can take. I just completed a 92-hour set of computer forensics courses and got a cert, and not I'm in the Cisco Networking Academy classes and will end up with a few Cisco certs--but only after spending a lot of hands-on time with Cisco equipment.

    OK I got 70-562 (ASP.NET & NET framework 3.5)passed too.

Now I am little bit confused. While I studied for this exam
M$ announced totally new exam path. There are 4 new exams 70511-517 covering NET 4 framework. Its little bit hard to follow M$ on this.

What could be the next exam after 70536, 70562 ?

You are on the .NET 3.x path. You need to choose if you want to continue on with .NET 3.5 or switch to .NET 4.0.

Hmm I see. I was surprised when I saw that there are so many exams starting for .NET f4 so mine NET 3.5 exam looks so obsolete.

    I wonder what others choose after 70536 & 562 exam ?

BTW after I achieve cert for NET 3.5 is it possible to upgrade to 4.0 somehow ?

What specialization certs you choose will depend on what .NET technologies you want to specialize in. Job postings are a very good indication of what .NET specialties are in demand.

Yes, that's the upgrade from MSVS 2008 to MSVS 2010: Visual Studio Certification | .NET Framework | Applications Development

    Good work! What's next?

    Thank you guys!

Well I think by taking this exams regularly (at least 3 in year)
is becoming my way of life and provides me with lifelong learning.

Beside you get cert you learn something and get satisfaction every time you pass :D

Before continuing with MS I think I will take A+ 801&802
because it seems relatively easy and good thing to have.
Then I will go with 70 486 & 487 because it needs little bit more time to study.

    Cheers!
