I see your point...

A lot of you guys who are in security positions have talked about customizing your own distros. Yesterday I downloaded a copy of BackTrack 3 to try it out and perhaps install on my laptop in VMWare Fusion. Well while it is a great distro, it just wasn't for me. I use Ubuntu on my main machine and while it may be considered newbie linux I have it setup just the way I like. Doesn't have all the tools it should, but does have the automation stuff I like to use on it. So the plan is to install Ubuntu 8.10 on my laptop and just everything customized just the way I like.

On a side note, I know that the OSCP course is based on using BackTrack, but you can use whatever distro you like for the exam correct? I'm pretty sure you can and I won't be looking to do the course for sometime, but just wanted to check. Thanks for all the info as usual!
