Firewall VM inside VMware server
Well I tried to squeeze the firewall install in during lunch but didn't quite make it... So I'll ask and see if anyone knows here. So WARNING, I haven't looked real hard for the answer or tested it.
In VMware server, I assume I need to tie a VMnet3 or something to a specific physical NIC. I need to do this because I am installing my firewall (because I don't want it running on a physical machine anymore) onto my VMware server. The physical NIC is the WAN interface that goes to my cable modem.
VMware maps VMnet1 to the host by default so you can bridge through vmnet0. But I need to know how to map another vmnet to a seperate NIC on my vmware server (it has 4 interfaces).
I know ESX has a nice interface for the network mappings so I wonder if VMware Server can even do it. Thanks for the help.
