MY CCNA is about to expire.
I was wondering I would go for CCNA - Security.
1) Will this renew my CCNA
2) Recommended books for CCNA- Security .
3) What would be the learning curve for CCNA-Security if I say I am out of touch with CCNA material from the time I gave it 2.5 yrs back....never got an opportunity to work on cisco devices.
Thinking of continuing my struggle to break into the security arena. Was busy collecting Security+ SSCP and preparing for CEH. Like they say "Life is what happens when you are busy planning"....similary expiration of cert happens when u are busy stduying for other ones
Thansk for all the advices.

It will renew your CCNA.
There're Cisco Press and Exam Cram books, and Chris Bryant has a study guide as well. Both CBT Nuggets and Train Signal have CBTs too.
I haven't done it, so I can't really comment on the last part. I think it's safe to say that you'll probably need to refresh a bit if it's rusty though. -

As always, depends on experience. With no experience on actual gear and if you are not currently using your CCNA actively in a job, I would say this may be pretty difficult for you. It definitely relies on prior CCNA knowledge. -
