    I believe he is on about the test exams on this fourm. If its the question im thinking about the answer is Change.

    According to MS the most restrictive permissions would apply, Read.
    In explanantion also states the same????

    The part you missed was on the NTFS side.

    In that question, the Sales group has read permissions, but John (who is in the Sales group) has full control. These NTFS permissions are cumulative. John has read + full control permissions (which equals full control NTFS permissions).

    He has his share permissions set to change. Now, since he has Full Control NTFS and Change share permissions.. the more restrictive applies.. which is Change.
