Hi,
Just a quick question,
In a WAN situation why would a company use a Serial connection 64kbps over a T1 1544kbps connection.
Does it just come down to cost (As I have no idea how much each cost to lease/run) and demand of bandwidth?

A 64Kb leased line (often referred to as Kilostream in the UK) is much cheaper than an E1 (2Mb) or T1 (1.54Mb) circuit. It's often priced by the mile (literally) and is very profitable to the telco.
With the advent of DSL, ISDN, and fibre everywhere, not many people would choose a 64Kb link unless their needs were so low and the cost of the service warranted it.
