What are the specific tools that will require indepth knowledge for the CEH? I am not talking about the obscure tools which they mention a function and port number, but the tools which require at least a working knowledge of. From the official book it appears one would need to be versed in NMAP, NESSUS, Wireshark, and Snort.
Any input would be appreciated.

JDMurray Admin Posts: 13,099 AdminI remember a post quite a while ago where somebody broke down CEHv4 into five categories of tool types and specified the five tools in each category you should know for the exam. I don't know if that recommendation is accurate for CEHv5 or v6, but it'd be a start. I think that post was from keatron; he'd know better than anyone else here.
