Question re: Routers and Local Mac's

This is a silly question, but one that my brain is having trouble processing. I figure I would throw it out here just so you guy's can set me straight.
When a LAN host sends a frame to a default gateway, the router adds the MAC address of the host that sends the frame, correct? What if the frame passes through a switch? It still keep's the source MAC address as the host's right?
I'm almost 100% sure the above is correct and the host's MAC is the one put into the Router's ARP cache, but I want to make sure. I don't want any confusion come exam time! Thanks.

If the packet from host to router first passes through the switch, the switch will use the hosts mac address to build its switch table. The router will use the hosts mac address and place it in its ARP table along with the IP of the host
