Need USB-Serial Adapters
Boss called from out of town, said they need two USB-Serial adapters and to run to Best Buy. Well they have them, but for 36.99! Tried CircuitCity and they have nothing on close out (which I knew but they are also a block away).
Anyone have a good source to get these from that wont charge an arm and a leg so I can order them today and have them arrive tomorrow? Ive already checked NewEgg and Buy.com but the overnight shipping is more than the unit itself. Just looking for some suggestions.

msteinhilber Member Posts: 1,480 ■■■■■■■■□□I'd suggest looking for a locally owned computer shop. Cables in general are a fairly high margin item even for local computer stores so I wouldn't expect much better. That is really about your only option is local, as you are likely going to spend more than the Best Buy price after the cost of the cable and next day shipping. Most places shouldn't charge additional or very much additional for next day shipping for the 2nd or each additional cable though, so if you reach a certain quantity then next day shipping and the cost of the cables might be cheaper than a local shop.

+1. Newegg came to $50 shipped overnight for 2 Vantec cables. That would be cheaper than buying two at Best Buy for you.CERTS: VCDX #110 / VCAP-DCA #500 (v5 & 4) / VCAP-DCD #10(v5 & 4) / VCP 5 & 4 / EMCISA / MCSE 2003 / MCTS: Vista / CCNA / CCENT / Security+ / Network+ / Project+ / CIW Database Design Specialist, Professional, Associate -

JDMurray Admin Posts: 13,089 AdminThey're a decent price at Fry's Electronics, which is sort of surprising to me. It's not a place I expect to find good prices on connectors and cables, but they're only five minutes from my house and sometimes it's a necessary convenience.
