USB to Serial
Gone through two of these now and still can't get putty ( terminal emulator ) to connect. The xp machine can see the usb device and seems to install it fine. When I try to use putty on that com port I get nothing.
I hear these things are very tempremental so what should I be looking at to get it working ?

In my case I have a Prolific RS-232 adapter and the group was uucp. If the user is not in this group then they cannot access the ttyUSB port."No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man." -Heraclitus
