Mac comes out with new line of computers

So today Mac announced their new line of mac mini, imac, and mac pro. Looks like they all look the same but got revampes on the mb and mem. The mac pro now sports the corei7 xeon cpu and 32 gigs of ram. Check it out if your interested.

    This type of money for a Quad-Core system with 3GB of RAM?

    You can make a Corei7 system with 8GB of RAM, have a sick graphics card and more and come out about 500 less.

    I just don't understand why people purchase these things other than the fact that they are 'hip'.

    I don't like Apple computers, and I'm not defending their price, but I will say that pricing out comparable PC hardware and throwing Windows on it doesn't make it the same as the Apple. It's like apples to unnecessarily gold plated oranges, but nevertheless oranges.
