Assoc problem on Server 2003
Due to our insurance software's retarded method of storing attachments (it lumps everything in one folder day by day), I'm having to change all imaging formats to default to their viewer. I had already changed .TIF to use this but apparently some people have been attaching .JPG's as well. And in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer you can navigate from file to file in the directory. Apparently a remote user on this terminal server was viewing accounting documents. As I said, horrible security and I've made the company well aware of this problem.
I had already used ftype and assoc to make it work with .TIF and that's been fine. I was able to get it working with .GIF as well, but when I try it on .JPG, .JPEG & such it still opens with the Windows Picture & Fax viewer. I checked HKCR and all the image types are associated with the viewer I want them to use, but JPGs still load in the Windows viewer. I'm at a loss for what else to do here. I've done the same thing on another terminal server and it worked beautifully.
EDIT: Well this is certainly odd. I logged in as two end users and it changed for them, just not for Administrator. I can right click, go to Open with > Choose Program and specify this program to open files and it doesn't save the association at all. Weirdness.
